1+ years of prior relevant floral design experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Ability to work nights (preferred)
Advanced floral knowledge (preferred)
Floral design experience in a resort environment (highly preferred)
Responsibilities
Plant, transplant, fertilize, water, prune, weed and apply chemicals to flower beds and plant areas
Maintain annuals, turf, trees, and shrubs by exercising proper horticultural practices
Monitor plant nutrition by checking soil, fertilizer, moisture, and overall appearance
Inspect work area to identify any potential safety hazards and ensure the landscape meets appearance standards
Properly use a variety of manual hand tools and equipment such as rakes, loppers, hand saws, pruning shears, shovels, hoes, fertilizer spreaders, pesticide sprayers, sod knifes and hedge shears
Drive/operate company vehicles or specialized carts to travel between properties and transport materials and equipment
Unload and inspect inventory as it is received
Operate specialized power and motorized equipment such as blowers, hedge trimmers, light tractors, lawn mowers, lawn edgers, chainsaws, aerial lifts, forklifts, turf aerators, roto-tillers and forklifts
Ensure appropriate pest management and irrigation management practices
