Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and be DOT qualified (preferred)
  • Able to meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills to track, monitor, and measure fuel dispensed
  • Ability to use or learn to use all equipment and tools for the job
  • Ability to perform all job functions safely
  • Ability to work scheduled/assigned times and required overtime
  • Knowledge or ability to learn MSDS information regarding materials used
  • Ability to apply tire chains
  • Ability to communicate in written form

Responsibilities

  • Refuel all tractors and trailers returned to the yard daily
  • Track, monitor, and measure fuel dispensed into each unit
  • Keep accurate nightly records to ensure all trucks are fueled on time
  • Record and monitor tank levels to ensure fuel availability
  • Check fluids and oil levels in tractors and reefer units
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on tractors and reefer units
  • Perform 10-point fuel island safety inspection on the fleet
  • Maintain record keeping of fuel
  • May perform minor cleaning on fleet
