Requirements

High School Diploma/GED preferred
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and be DOT qualified (preferred)
Able to meet the medical requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) (preferred)
Strong organizational skills to track, monitor, and measure fuel dispensed
Ability to use or learn to use all equipment and tools for the job
Ability to perform all job functions safely
Ability to work scheduled/assigned times and required overtime
Knowledge or ability to learn MSDS information regarding materials used
Ability to apply tire chains
Ability to communicate in written form

Responsibilities

Refuel all tractors and trailers returned to the yard daily
Track, monitor, and measure fuel dispensed into each unit
Keep accurate nightly records to ensure all trucks are fueled on time
Record and monitor tank levels to ensure fuel availability
Check fluids and oil levels in tractors and reefer units
Perform routine maintenance checks on tractors and reefer units
Perform 10-point fuel island safety inspection on the fleet
Maintain record keeping of fuel
May perform minor cleaning on fleet
