Requirements

Candidates must possess a Doctoral degree in Epidemiology or a related field with a minimum of four (4) years of relevant post-doctoral experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, or consulting environment. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Epidemiology or a relevant scientific field combined with 7-9 years of experience may be considered. Applicants should have HIV research experience and a deep understanding of observational research design issues, including cohort construction, bias, confounding, and censoring, along with experience working with large databases of person-level or visit-level secondary data sources. A record of scientific publications demonstrating expertise in observational study design, analysis, and interpretation is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Senior Epidemiologist will design and conduct epidemiological studies to generate real-world evidence, including natural history studies, population characterization, and assessment of treatment patterns. They will lead the development of study protocols, analysis plans, and study reports, identify fit-for-purpose data, construct cohorts using RWD sources, conduct analyses for descriptive and comparative research, and contribute to the communication of observational research results through regulatory documents, reports, publications, and white papers. The role also involves supporting internal and external decisions, developing processes and training, and coauthoring abstracts and manuscripts for external dissemination of study results.
