Requirements
- Must reside within the Ruime Rand rond Lokeren
- Valid Belgian driver's license (B) and access to a personal vehicle
- Strong passion for journalism and local news
- Ability to write clearly and engagingly (“in het hoofd, in het hart”)
- Ability to proactively build a network of sources to gather news
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other journalists and photographers
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to handle deadlines and maintain a results-oriented approach
Responsibilities
- Actively search for and report on the latest news within the assigned municipalities
- Write and publish daily news articles on HLN.be’s municipal pages
- Maintain a network of sources to ensure timely access to information
- Provide context and analysis to news stories
- Maintain regular contact with the Antwerpen-based editorial team
- Understand and report on local events, businesses, and community issues
