Two years mechanical/machinery maintenance experience or related technical school certification
Experience with forklift and material handling equipment maintenance and repair (preferred)
Proficiency in the use of mechanical tools
Ability to listen to and visually inspect machinery to diagnose maintenance needs
Ability to read schematics
Ability to safely drive all material handling equipment
Good communication skills, written and verbal, to communicate and/or document maintenance needs and status of projects
Must report for work regularly and on time, as scheduled
Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s) and work well with others
Must work well under pressure, organize and prioritize work assignments, and meet established deadlines
Must perform assigned tasks accurately and completely
Must be flexible and able to handle changes in work requirements productively
Ability to frequently sit, walk, stand, use hands to handle/grasp/twist objects/tools/controls, use feet for repetitive movements, crouch, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 75 pounds with assistance
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to temperature/humidity changes and moderate to high noise levels
Responsibilities
Perform basic and/or non-routine preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, material handling equipment) within the distribution facility
Troubleshoot, diagnose, test, and inspect (audibly and visually) equipment to determine need for repair
Dismantle, install, and repair parts, electrical apparatus, mechanical systems, and/or components of material handling equipment
Assemble and test equipment to ensure correction of necessary repairs and maintenance
Maintain a safe working environment
Assist with basic building maintenance as required
Assist other mechanics with complex general repair as requested
Adhere to all maintenance policies and procedures at assigned location
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned as needed
