High school diploma or equivalent
Basic exposure to hand tools and equipment from a farming environment
2 years of related farm experience or equivalent experience
Basic knowledge of English, math, and the ability to read
Good mechanical proficiency
Ability to walk up to 2 hours a day
Ability to stand up to 8 hours a day
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
Tolerance for fluctuating temperatures (hot/cold), loud noises, strong odors, various outside weather conditions
Ability to stand for full shift and work with hazardous/toxic materials
Willingness to wear PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs, etc.)

Responsibilities

Feeding animals daily and provide care as needed
Setting up equipment for bleeding, maneuver animals into shoots, bleed animals as needed, and clean area thoroughly
Assisting with general farm upkeep of fence lines, drainage ditches, lawn, house/farm repairs including minor electrical and plumbing repairs
Providing basic feed and upkeep for animals on a weekend rotation basis
Operating company vehicles and machinery such as tractors, truck, and loader
Checking farm for safety and security as needed
Using hand-held machinery, such as grinder, drill, and weed eater for routine farm upkeep
Reporting any actual or potential safety hazards to the Supervisor, Human Resources, Safety Specialist, or Senior Management
Maintaining farm property, equipment, and facilities
Caring for farm animals, particularly sheep
