Requirements

  • 1 year experience working in general career field (no previous experience required but desirable)
  • Requires on-the-job training to learn operation of equipment and various cleaning techniques
  • Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Must have good verbal and written skills
  • One week of training necessary to perform adequately in assigned area
  • Ability to wear and work in personal protective equipment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 45 lbs. and maneuver large, cumbersome equipment
  • Ability to do data entry and operate a computer
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, grip or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch
  • Ability to push/pull up to 130 pounds of force
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to work in hot temperature conditions
  • Ability to operate manufacturing equipment such as forklifts on occasion

Responsibilities

  • Perform janitorial duties: upkeep plant site including cafeteria, medical, offices, restrooms ensuring clean and orderly; remove litter and waste; clean, mop, strip and wax offices, restrooms, tiled hallways; wash windows, walls, doors; clean window shades; inspect and dispose of biohazardous and nonhazardous waste; maintain work area and plan route schedule
  • Perform laundry duties: provide locker room orientation to visitors; perform quality checks on uniforms; collect, run, and distribute laundry; perform inventory on uniforms and stock; clean and inspect respirator equipment
  • Perform decontamination duties: operate machinery for snow handling, road cleaning, material handling; implement snow removal plan including salting walkways; operate forklifts/overhead cranes to move material; use lawn mowers, weed cutters, power washers, vehicles, hand tools; maintain plant roadway for dust control; perform overhead cleaning from elevated platforms, scaffolds, ladders
