Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Proven experience in high-power electrical system design and analysis
  • Strong understanding of motor control, drive systems, and industrial electrical components
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams

Identifies and documents specific problems and resolution alternatives. Examines a specific problem and understands the perspective of each involved stakeholder.   • Troubleshooting Technical Problems (working knowledge): Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment. Documents common hardware, software and communications problems and likely resolutions. Troubleshoots typical technical problems in a specific area. Works with vendor-specific tools

Responsibilities

  • Design test cell electrical systems ranging from 10 kW to 4 MW
  • Perform analysis to determine motor and drive sizing
  • Perform analysis to calculate arc flash incident energy
  • Work with suppliers to procure electrical components
  • Develop preventive maintenance schedules for electrical components
  • Work with a diverse team of mechanical designers, PLC programmers, project coordinators, and facility engineers to plan and build tests in a research and development environment
