High School Diploma or equivalent
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures of plastic extrusion
Strong communication skills - written and verbal
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to read a work order and use a tape measure within 1/16”
Physical ability to lift moderately heavy items (over 25lbs and up to 75lbs)
Ability to stand for a 10-hour shift, including bending, twisting, climbing, walking, and lifting

Responsibilities

Set up extrusion machinery, including all downstream equipment and tooling
Operate extrusion machinery daily, working with multiple materials and configurations, without direct supervision
Clean equipment and tools used in the extrusion process
Complete detailed documentation related to machine set-up and quality system requirements, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Identify and correct problems; apply experience and knowledge in adjusting and training others; document changes; monitor and focus on scrap reduction
Identify and assist in resolving safety, health, or environmental issues; maintain compliance with good manufacturing processes
Fill in for operators when rotations for breaks are needed
Produce quality parts; inspect and approve profiles to ensure they meet manufacturing requirements
Inspect the quality of materials and alert Production Supervisor or appropriate personnel of issues or failures immediately
Inspect the quality of machinery and report equipment failures to the Maintenance Department
Update set-up sheets and documentation as required
Have the knowledge to set up all lines within the manufacturing plant
Perform other duties as assigned
