Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Design or related field (or suitable combination of education, experience, and training)
  • 8+ years of relevant footwear design experience in a design environment working with materials, trims, design, and fit
  • Highly creative with exceptional eye for silhouette, style, method of make, and solid understanding of lifestyle and performance attributes
  • Obsession with details to create best product design that WOWs consumers
  • Expertise in blending digital tools with craftsman-level making and construction skills (renderings, prototyping, physical samples)
  • Key leadership skills: product excellence passion & mastery, vision setting, design direction, editing & curation, strategic thinking, problem solving, presentation, narrative/world building, communication & influence, mentorship, feedback culture, growth mindset, operational excellence, time management
  • Ability to apply design skills: drawing/sketching/cobbling ideation, digital product creation, visual presentation development
  • Deep knowledge of technical and non-technical footwear constructions across men’s and women’s
  • Extensive knowledge of footwear industry, marketing & merchandising principles, and development process
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in local market language, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Portfolio or work samples with focus on process, creative thinking & problem solving (required to be considered)
  • Incredibly strong collaborative, creative, communicative skills

Responsibilities

  • Guide/lead creative through the design season
  • Work with team of designers, developers, product managers, merchants to deliver creative in line with Nike Design
  • Design & create world-class designs focused on driving Innovation & Performance product lines for Energy Sport Ignite
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on product development from concepting through to production
  • Partner with Design Leadership and category team members in Design, Development, Merchandising to ensure design feasibility, meet price points, merchandising needs, and product creation timelines
  • Provide prototype sampling and tech pack information (fabrication, trim, color, graphic applications, style, detail, fit requirements, construction details)
  • Monitor development of prototype samples
  • Interact with Development, Pattern Making, Material, and Sample Room to exchange ideas and ensure timely completion
