Requirements

  • 4–10 years in transportation planning or engineering (operations, design, forecasting, policy)
  • Strong technical, writing, and presentation skills
  • Strong curiosity about the world around you
  • Project management experience; marketing exposure a plus
  • License or certification preferred; GIS helpful

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to projects from focused corridor studies to region-shaping initiatives, aligning with funding, working across specialties (operations, safety, economics, curbside management, transportation demand management, transit, design, and more), and co-authoring competitive grant narratives
  • Communicate with impact by writing understandable policies for the public, crafting valuable memos for decisionmakers, and briefing city leaders with clear, actionable insights
  • Design smarter systems, such as redesigning downtown streets for safety and efficiency, developing TDM plans for stadiums and universities, and replacing generic ITE rates with context-sensitive models
  • Grow with the team by mentoring and being mentored, providing generous feedback, building tidy, reusable analytics (Python/ArcGIS/Excel), and balancing high-impact work with life outside of it
  • Become a trusted advisor by winning repeat business with clients through deep knowledge of local communities and insights for complex decisions
  • Help with practical tasks like adding trips for a university with better transit and shuttles, developing TDM plans for NFL stadiums, redesigning street systems for shared safe space, weighing quick-build safety design options for city managers, and developing transit system plans to prioritize investments meeting community goals
