Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years claims handling experience or comparable experience
- Field claims experience with multi-line property and casualty claims and wind/hail
- Proficiency with Xactimate software
- Above average communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Ability to organize and interpret data
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Valid driver’s license
- Frequent travel (up to 21 days at a time) to catastrophe locations, often out of state, upon short notice
- Ability to meet physical demands including carrying and climbing a ladder
Responsibilities
- Investigate and assemble facts to determine policy coverage
- Evaluate the amount of loss and analyze legal liability
- Pay or deny losses
- Be familiar with insurance coverage by studying insurance policies, endorsements, and forms
- Work towards the resolution of claims, potentially attending arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials
- Ensure that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner
