Responsibilities

  • Lead actuarial and underwriting teams supporting the Professional Employer Organization (PEO) segment
  • Partner with account team, product, finance, and segment President to drive profitable growth
  • Own various core actuarial projects such as experience and manual rated pricing, knowledge of reserve setting, medical cost analysis and forecasting
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including executives, project managers, benefits managers, actuaries and underwriters for both customers and their hired consultants
  • In collaboration with account team, define and manage the PEO renewal strategy, identify and mitigate risks, and capitalize on opportunities by developing unique solutions
  • Support new and growth PEOs by evaluating prospects and managing the PEO pipeline, and sell Aetna through communication of value proposition
  • Manage team through the PEO renewal cycle, including deliverables such as annual renewal delivery, allocation of rate increase to small groups (rebanding), post-renewal review and analysis, continuous monitoring and reporting of experience, product strategy, internal underwriting administrative tasks, and supporting customer strategy conversations
  • Manage 4-5 direct reports, with total staff of 13
