High School Diploma or equivalent
3 years of experience operating various equipment, including haul trucks, water trucks, loaders, graders, dozers, excavators, blast hole drills, forklifts, and a screen plant; ability to easily learn other mine equipment
Valid California driver’s license (must have and maintain)
Ability to work overtime if needed
Ability to be ATF Cleared and work with and around explosives
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to stand, walk, reach, stoop, squat, and climb ramps & stairs
Understanding of safety protocols and operational efficiency
Ability to interpret varying ore grades and make decisions on allocation to storage areas
Proficiency in basic maintenance tasks such as fueling and minor repairs
Willingness to cross-train on alternative equipment

Responsibilities

Operate various heavy equipment as needed to meet production demands
Establish and sustain specified grade levels (e.g., level surfaces to 2%, 8%, 10%) as directed by the mine supervisor
Construct drainage infrastructure (e.g., drainage ditches, retention basins, French drains, sump ponds) when required
Execute basic mining projects, including ore control from extraction to separation
Maintain detailed records of production loads, ore descriptions, locations, daily tasks, and work permits
Perform comprehensive pre-shift inspections of equipment
Maintain optimal ore grades and appropriate berm heights
Maintain Elementis safety culture, report near misses and incidents to mine supervisor, mine manager, and HSE manager
Perform ancillary duties as necessary
