Valid driver's license with no restrictions
2-4 years previous heavy equipment experience
Knowledge of Palisades Tahoe Terrain preferred
Ability to evaluate rapidly changing conditions in machine and surroundings
Ability to use various heavy equipment
Effective oral communication skills
Ability to recognize changes in smell and sound of a machine and know if a major component is not functioning properly
Understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Strong sense of safety awareness at all times
Punctual, able to report at scheduled start time
Work well as part of a team

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment including Fuel Truck, Compactor, Skid Steer, Water Truck, Rock Drill, Forklift, Dozer, Backhoe, Dump Truck, Loader, Excavator, Grader, Crane, and Sand Truck
Set grade and laser level terrain
Properly check out/in motorized equipment and perform daily basic maintenance
Demonstrate safe operation and distances near obstacles and personnel
Park machinery safely and properly
Minimize downtime and prevent machine damage through preventative maintenance, cleanliness, and up-keep
Grade ski runs, build level and excavate land surfaces using dozers, loaders, and other construction equipment
Gather and load dirt and waste products from job sites onto trucks and transport to appropriate location
Accurately document and report condition of machinery to vehicle maintenance daily
Occasionally operate water tanker and similar equipment for dust control and dirt compaction
Operate lifts on vehicles, carry and hook up heavy slings
Communicate effectively with Construction Manager and vehicle maintenance shops regarding needs
Operate machines safely with minimal supervision
Inspect vehicles for safe and dependable operation
Perform minor repairs on equipment when necessary to continue operations
