Requirements

  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, DOT, and other federal/state EHS regulations
  • Ability to work closely with Corporate EHS team, General Manager, and HR Business Partner
  • Capability to oversee 6S Program implementation, processes, training, and documentation

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain work instructions, forms, and site-specific EHS programs and procedures
  • Coordinate and administer all employee EHS training as required
  • Make recommendations for compliance with federal and state EHS regulations
  • Devise and implement EHS processes to prevent, correct, or control environmental conditions
  • Complete all required weekly, monthly, and annual facility inspections (e.g., fire extinguisher, eye wash, emergency light, AED)
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections plant-wide on all shifts and administer corrective actions for violations
  • Lead and facilitate all monthly on-site Safety Committee meetings
  • Maintain EHS postings (e.g., metrics, safety committee minutes, OSHA requirements, hazard communication)
  • Maintain site EHS SharePoint page
  • Attend all corporate monthly and/or weekly EHS meetings
  • Conduct routine monthly EHS audits, ensure compliance, and report results to corporate
  • Oversee reporting, investigation, and documentation of accidents and near misses; follow up and manage corrective actions
  • Lead and encourage employees to follow EHS expectations, communicate policies and goals, and address concerns
  • Organize and maintain annual occupational exposure and industrial hygiene programs for compliance
  • Oversee SDS maintenance and assist with chemical information requests
  • Participate in company-wide EHS events and awareness programs
  • Implement and oversee site 6S program, including maintenance and audit requirements
  • Work with supervisors, leads, Quality Manager, and HR to ensure job-specific training is conducted, documented, and tracked
  • Assist HR with Workers’ Compensation actions (treatment, investigation, documentation, drug/alcohol testing)
  • Research and write permit applications/renewals for compliance
  • Conduct air quality testing for compliance with internal, state, and federal requirements
  • Prepare and maintain monthly emissions inventory for each emission point, if applicable
