Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental and safety compliance at power plants or other industrial locations (experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable)
- Familiarity with EPA, state and Federal OSHA or MSHA regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one time
- Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation
- Experience with delivering communications and training related to EHS compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc
- Strong skillset in resolving technical issues to ensure EHS compliance
- Proven project management skills
- Maintains relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary plant liaison
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and support the development and implementation of environmental, health & safety compliance programs for the plant
- Analyze, prepare, and submit all environmental reports and prepare, plan, and submit all regulatory compliance notifications
- Manage recordkeeping and programs required for EHS regulatory compliance
- Manage injury and near miss incidents including injury and illness reporting to the company and investigations and learnings
- Ensure plant employees are properly trained on permits and all company EHS procedures and policies
- Maintain awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities
- Educate and promote safe work practices and programs
- Interact with external agencies as representative of the plant and the company
