Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety and Health, Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Sciences, Safety Engineering, or related degree (preferred)
Some technical writing experience preferred
Some hazard identification and risk analysis experience preferred
Some experience in developing Job Safety Analyses preferred
Good application skills of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills

Responsibilities

Assist the site in developing new Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and reviewing/updating existing JSAs for manufacturing processes, including working on the manufacturing floor with associates to observe workflows, identify hazards, and develop protective/corrective measures
Work with associates and safety council members to create, review, validate, and update new or existing JSAs and PPE assessments
Assist with development of site training materials relating to JSA creation/use and PPE assessment
Make recommendations and observations as appropriate throughout the process
Participate in leadership reviews and daily report-outs with the site management team
Maintain high ethical and work standards, promote them in others, and ensure professional demeanor in all business activities
Express thoughts clearly orally and in writing, prepare concise reports in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, listen actively, and respond promptly
Work cooperatively in a team, support company initiatives, and achieve organizational goals
Identify and communicate work improvements, perform root-cause analysis, implement solutions, and share best practices
Accept responsibility for strategic planning and successful implementation of projects, programs, and duties; advise supervisor of concerns
