Requirements

  • AS/BS in engineering and 5 years of hands-on experience in assembly or systems testing
  • Advanced electrical knowledge and proficiency in the use of standard hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Capability to assemble hydraulic components including soldering and brazing
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and P&I diagrams
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word (preferred)
  • Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional communication skills and strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Motivated, hands-on, team player with the desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Additional experience/skills in soldering/brazing, Solidworks, LabVIEW (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Test prototype and production components and assemblies to determine performance and ensure compliance to customer specifications (measurements include cooling capacity, fluid flow, pressure drop, shock and vibration, noise level, controls, etc.)
  • Design and build specialized test equipment and fixtures to support testing of prototype and production components and assemblies
  • Work from verbal and written instructions, technical manuals, engineering specifications, schematics, and drawings
  • Use a variety of test equipment and troubleshoot product defects
  • Support engineering with writing test procedures, interpreting test data, and writing test reports
  • Provide ownership of the engineering lab equipment, including 6S program, equipment maintenance, and calibration
  • Calibrate pressure gauges, thermocouples, flow meters, and other equipment necessary for specialized test setups
  • Interface with engineering, drafting, production personnel, and outside vendors
