Candidates must be available for meetings during Quora's coordination hours (Mon-Fri: 9am-3pm Pacific Time). A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience, is required, along with 8+ years in software engineering proficiency in Python and JavaScript. Proven experience in managing engineers for over 2 years, designing and scaling systems for developer workflows like CI/CD, testing frameworks, and automation tools is necessary. The role also requires proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality technical solutions on time, along with exceptional ability to articulate complex technical ideas. Hands-on experience with AI platforms, frameworks, and APIs, including integrating AI/ML solutions into engineering systems, is preferred.
The Engineering Manager will lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing platform engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning. They will drive initiatives to improve developer velocity by streamlining workflows and reducing friction, and uphold high standards for best engineering practices across Poe teams. Responsibilities include leveraging the latest AI tools to enhance team productivity, defining and aligning the team’s roadmap with organizational goals, establishing processes for operational efficiency and reliability, and guiding technical design discussions and long-term strategy.
