Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience as an engineering manager and 5 years as a software engineer, with proven success leading platform, infrastructure, or developer tools teams in high-growth environments. Experience designing and scaling developer platforms, CI/CD systems, or internal frameworks is required, along with a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), observability, and devops automation. A passion for improving developer experience and reducing friction in engineering workflows, strategic thinking about incorporating AI coding assistants, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and a bias for action with a pragmatic mindset are also necessary.
The Engineering Manager will lead a high-performing engineering team responsible for infrastructure, developer productivity, and shared backend systems. They will define and drive the strategy to improve developer velocity, including tooling, workflows, and infrastructure, and partner with engineering leadership to define the adoption and operationalization of AI coding assistants. Responsibilities also include establishing application security foundations, working cross-functionally to align platform investments with business needs, establishing best practices for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence, and recruiting, mentoring, and developing engineers.
