Requirements

  • Over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems
  • Excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices
  • Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment
  • A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture
  • Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar
  • Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones (advantageous)
  • Proficient in English
  • Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar (bonus)
  • Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments (bonus)
  • Passion for building distributed systems for large-scale, high-volume applications
  • Dedication to solving complex problems using data-driven solutions

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of experienced engineers in Poland
  • Define the team's roadmap, execution plans, and take ownership of project delivery
  • Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring
  • Uphold values by building a collaborative, inclusive team focused on customer impact
  • Cultivate a culture of excellence through emphasis on execution, quality, and scale
  • Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses
  • Collaborate with product teams to scope new features, provide project estimates, and inform quarterly commitments
  • Work with cross-functional partners and stakeholders to ensure the team delivers significant business impact
  • Represent Box internally and externally
  • Implement UI/UX improvements to enable other teams to build client platform apps efficiently
  • Maintain the internal Design System to drive consistency, accessibility, and reusability of frontend experiences across Box
