Requirements

Experience leading teams focused on developer productivity, developer experience, or internal platforms, treating internal engineers as customers and empathizing with their pain points
Proven engineering leader with a few years of management experience, skilled in hiring, developing, and retaining great talent
Thrive in a hypothesis-driven environment, experimenting with new tools or processes, measuring results with data, iterating based on learnings, and embracing change
Technical aptitude with experience shipping production code and solid grasp of modern software development practices, including CI/CD pipelines, version control, code review processes, and cloud infrastructure
Hands-on familiarity with building or improving internal tools or automation for a dev team, enabling participation in technical discussions and guiding engineering decisions

Responsibilities

Lead the Developer Impact team in the Zapier Internal Platforms zone to improve the effectiveness and velocity of the engineering organization
Apply insights and innovations in development tooling and processes, with a strong emphasis on AI-powered developer workflows and cutting-edge productivity tooling
Shape and drive the mission to eliminate friction in the software development life cycle, working across the company
Adopt a hypothesis-driven, experimental approach to internal tooling, rapidly testing ideas, measuring impact, and iterating
Leverage applied AI, such as intelligent code assistants and automated CI pipelines, to reduce toil and supercharge developers’ flow
Build lightweight solutions that are dogfooded internally and quickly adapted as technology and team needs evolve
