Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Process or Mechanical Engineering, with 3-5 years of experience working as an Engineer in a process plant environment being a plus. Demonstrated understanding of process safety fundamentals is required, and maintaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card in good standing is also necessary.

Responsibilities

The Process Safety Engineer will support process safety management elements including MOC, PSSR, PHA, building siting, and process design, providing support on the communication of process safety risks and assisting in day-to-day reporting. They will attend Process Hazard Assessments (PHAs) and Layers of Protection Analysis (LOPA), manage associated action items, and support assessments across various processes such as car sealing, procedures, process safety events, permit to work, SIMOPs, inhibits/bypasses, safety critical element management, and pre-startup safety reviews. Furthermore, the engineer will monitor process safety metrics, analyze data, and identify trends and outliers.
