Requirements

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) enclosure or electromechanical enclosure design, progressing from the conceptual stage through to mass production. Alternatively, a Master’s degree specializing in engineering mechanics, design, or CAD with at least 3 years of experience in BESS enclosure design and engineering is acceptable. Strong experience with large BESS enclosure design from the conceptual stage to mass production is required, along with familiarity with international standards such as NFPA, ASME, ANSI, ISO, IEEE, and DNV.

Responsibilities

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the Battery energy storage new enclosure R&D team, collaborating closely with various stakeholders including the New Product development team, engineers from non-mechanical domains, program managers, product managers, and requisition teams. You will be responsible for performing concept and detailed design & calculations using advanced tools, preparing procurement specifications for enclosure subcomponents like safety and thermal systems, identifying risks and opportunities, and delivering creative solutions. Furthermore, you will ensure adherence to product design standards, participate in root cause analysis, lead enclosure interfaces with other engineering cross-functions, and contribute to the timely releases of engineering design, product drawings, and documentation.
