Requirements

Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) with experience working in an ER hospital setting or 2+ years general practice LVT experience
Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
Reliable, organized, and committed to providing high-level care to patients and clients
A craving for lifelong learning and continuous improvements
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to deliver exceptional client service

Responsibilities

Perform all essential duties of a Veterinary Technician
Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
Provide support to all veterinarians, often assisting more than one on your shift
Provide diagnostic, surgical, and nursing care to all patients
Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling, and free catch urine
Perform various laboratory procedures including blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiographs while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
Properly use and maintain medical equipment
Provide professional client communication
Help keep hospital areas clean and neat, maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Maintain client and patient confidentiality
Act as an ambassador of VECC at all times, displaying consideration, courtesy, compassion, and professionalism
