This is an onsite position.
Candidates need 2+ years of research or industry experience working with precision electron or ion beam systems, analysis of charged particle optical systems, mechanical CAD, high vacuum assemblies and component selection, and hands-on experience building, prototyping, and assembling complex systems.
Atomic Semi is an early-stage hardware startup building a small, fast semiconductor fab with a team of exceptional, hands-on engineers who are optimistic, believe in pushing technology limits, and own the stack from atoms to architecture, emphasizing rapid iteration and inventing what's missing.
Strong candidates have a first-principles mindset, experience rapidly prototyping components for complex systems, and expertise in hands-on design, analysis, and bring-up of electron-optical systems including electron sources, lenses, detectors, beam steering, vacuum chambers, electrostatics simulation, mechanical design, and high vacuum.
Compact semiconductor fabrication facility development
Atomic Semi develops compact semiconductor fabrication facilities, known as "fabs," to produce semiconductor chips used in various electronic devices like smartphones and computers. Their fabs are designed to be smaller and more efficient than traditional large-scale facilities, allowing for quicker adaptation to technological changes and market needs. This agility enables Atomic Semi to create advanced chips with smaller geometries, enhancing performance and efficiency. The company primarily serves tech companies across multiple industries, including consumer electronics and automotive, generating revenue through chip manufacturing and offering custom fabrication services. Atomic Semi's goal is to significantly impact the semiconductor market by providing high-quality, innovative chip solutions.
