Requirements

  • At least 1 year of previous experience/training in industrial maintenance
  • At least 1 year of industrial maintenance work experience and 6 months of work history with 1 employer within the last 2 years listed on application
  • Training beyond high school preferred, including Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or closely related field, or combination of education and experience (e.g., skilled trade programs, military training)
  • Competent in Windows-based software (Outlook, Excel, Word); strong skills in document organization, templates, and simple queries
  • Proficient or become proficient in SAP Plant Maintenance
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing; high-level critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Certifications in any technical field or techniques (plus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skills in AC/DC circuits and industrial electrical systems
  • Experience in electrical safety and lock out/tag out processes and procedures
  • Knowledge in theory and application of electronic devices (e.g., industrial semiconductors, solid state drives, industrial control systems)
  • Experience in operation of PLC systems, control and data collection instrumentation, and transducers
  • Working knowledge and skills in tools and components for maintenance/repair of mechanical systems (e.g., bearings, gears, clutches, belts, seals)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components and systems
  • Preferred: Basic microcomputer skills for microprocessors; PLC operation (configuration, programming, troubleshooting); skills/training in electronic motor drive technologies (e.g., servo-motors, encoders, VFDs, etc.)
  • Minimum 1-5 trips per year outside assigned location
  • Willing and able to perform physical requirements of the job (frequent exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, high places, outside weather, electrical shock, vibration; occasional toxic chemicals, extreme heat; loud noise) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Rehire criteria: minimum 180-day waiting period; no more than 3 times worked at Tyson Foods
