Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
2-5 years of experience with high voltage substation design
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (preferred)
Experience with Bluebeam Revu PDF Editor (preferred)
EIT (Engineer in Training) in pursuit of obtaining PE License (beneficial)
Knowledge of utility standards (e.g., NESC)
Understanding of construction techniques
Self-motivated
Ability to work well with others
Excellent writing, organizational, and communication skills

Responsibilities

Prepare one-lines, installation plans, section views, and details for power substation equipment
Create schematics, panel elevations, panel wiring diagrams, and interconnection diagrams for protective relaying & control schemes
Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design and physical design
Perform research and develop recommendations for equipment and materials selection
Conduct complex engineering calculations/studies related to substation projects (e.g., lightning protection, conduit fill, AC/DC station service loading, surge arrester sizing, voltage drop)
Create RTU control, status, and analog point lists, raceway/cable schedules, and maintenance/signage
Assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards
Provide technical guidance to others regarding projects and disciplines
Initiate contact with other disciplines to coordinate details
Attend client and project meetings
Maintain excellent client relations
Adhere to budget, schedule, and quality requirements
Maintain a safe working environment
