Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and a PE license or be actively pursuing PE licensure; EIT certification is preferred. A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in electrical engineering, particularly in Civil/Structural Engineering, Power Distribution, or MEP firms is required. Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, or similar tools is necessary, along with a strong understanding of electrical codes and standards like NEC and IEC. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines are also essential. A willingness to travel to project sites as needed is required.
The Sr Electrical Engineer will design and develop electrical systems for Civil and Structural Design projects, power distribution, MEP projects, and related fields. They will prepare and review electrical design documents, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Conducting electrical load calculations, system sizing, and analysis is part of the role. The engineer will coordinate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery and perform site inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards. Providing technical support during construction, commissioning, and maintenance phases is expected, as well as staying updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices. They will assist in preparing project proposals, cost estimates, and technical reports, ensuring all designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations while mentoring and supporting junior engineers and interns.
