Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineer (PE) license and advanced degree is a plus) or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering in a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond to emergencies
  • Experience in project management, including planning, budgeting, and execution
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for machinery, HVAC, electrical systems, and facility infrastructure
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate timely repairs
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment history
  • Organize and produce engineering drawings for installation and commissioning of new and existing designs (physical layouts, grounding, conduits, electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relay systems in medium voltage stations)
  • Work with facilities maintenance technicians in troubleshooting facility systems or equipment failures
  • Oversee building electrical systems including lighting, fire protection alarm systems, heating/cooling, and security
  • Lead and support design teams involved with conceptual, preliminary, and final design of station projects
  • Perform engineering design work and engineering studies
  • Develop test plans and perform tests on electrical circuitry, equipment, and systems
  • Perform as engineering project leader
  • Prepare specifications and evaluate bids
  • Prepare recommendation material for management consideration
  • Administer and review work performed by consultants and others
  • Perform field engineering work and analyses
  • Manage project budgets and schedules
  • Manage contractors and vendors for facility services and repairs
  • Assist with preparing and managing the maintenance and facilities budget
  • Monitor expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Support emergency response planning and drills
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and facility efficiency
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on capital projects and upgrades
  • Utilize Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma methodologies to drive improvements
