Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
EHS Degree preferred
5-10 years’ relevant experience required; previous grain handling/rail experience preferred
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification preferred
Up to 30% travel is required
In-depth knowledge and experience
Ability to use existing solutions to resolve complex issues
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Ability to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Responsibilities

Support locations in execution of EHS Management Systems, Significant Injury and Fatality (SIF) initiatives, and Life Critical Policies through education and training, auditing, coaching and leading
Provide strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance
Assist with the development of business unit EHS policies and procedures
Provide incident investigation support and lead those classified as Red Risk
Ensure operations activities incorporate all necessary auditing, monitoring, reporting and inspections to comply with standards
Identify opportunities and drive improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) risk at the location level
Implement programs, processes and procedures within its respective business unit
