Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred
  • EHS Degree preferred
  • 5-10 years’ relevant experience required; previous grain handling/rail experience preferred
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), and/or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification preferred
  • Up to 30% travel is required
  • In-depth knowledge and experience
  • Ability to use existing solutions to resolve complex issues
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience

Responsibilities

  • Support locations in execution of EHS Management Systems, Significant Injury and Fatality (SIF) initiatives, and Life Critical Policies through education and training, auditing, coaching and leading
  • Provide strategic leadership to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Assist with the development of business unit EHS policies and procedures
  • Provide incident investigation support and lead those classified as Red Risk
  • Ensure operations activities incorporate all necessary auditing, monitoring, reporting and inspections to comply with standards
  • Identify opportunities and drive improvement of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) risk at the location level
  • Implement programs, processes and procedures within its respective business unit
