Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • Class 1 License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Frequent physical efforts required including lifting of up to 60+ lbs while walking up/downstairs and loading docks
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor working conditions with varying weather conditions and temperatures
  • 70-80% driving which requires sitting for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Establish positive relationships with FreshPoint customers by providing excellent customer service through timely and accurate delivery of products, answering customer queries, and providing resolution to delivery-related issues
  • Escalate customer concerns directly to supervisor
  • Accurate delivery of products as per established routes, schedules, and customer invoices
  • Safely deliver goods from delivery vehicle via hand, hand cart or pallet, and place in designated customer storage areas (may include transporting products downstairs, ramps, docks or elevators in all weather conditions)
  • Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment and company vehicle
  • Meeting defined benchmarks for route completion
  • Accurately maintain a daily trip log notating information as prescribed
  • Adhering to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Understand, uphold and comply with Sysco’s policies and procedures (e.g., health and safety, returns)
  • Initiate process of issuing credit to customers by providing all relevant information required to appropriate stakeholders
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of delivery equipment and MHE
  • Escalate mechanical issues, order discrepancies and delivery delays to supervisor and ensure photographic evidence are included to substantiate claims
  • Provide feedback or information on areas of opportunity to streamline or increase efficiency on route schedules or customer base
  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met
  • Work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor
  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak up
