Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with training or certification in a relevant skill or trade
Successful completion of a CDL Driver Training Course is a plus
Must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Must maintain a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate and Compliance Certificate
1–2 years of relevant driving experience preferred
Clean driving record with no recent moving violations
Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.)
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, etc.)
Willingness to submit to background/drug checks and provide employment references
Ability to work in environments with high noise levels
Ability to withstand exposure to extreme temperatures (indoors and outdoors)
Ability to stand or remain stationary for prolonged periods
Ability to perform repetitive movements, bending, and twisting
Ability to lift, move, and transport items up to 50 pounds
Ability to traverse facilities and work around dust, chemicals, and other substances
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (hearing, vision, protection)

Responsibilities

Comply with Westlake Safety Policies
Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
Provide safety leadership in promoting and creating a zero-injury safety culture
Transport finished goods and raw materials to and from manufacturing plants, retail, or distribution centers
Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns; perform preventative maintenance
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Document and maintain accurate trip records, including: Driver’s logbook, Equipment inspection logs, Trip reports, Daily Timesheets, Fuel and toll receipts, Load weight tickets, Customer delivery receipts
Input “macros” into the automated system for each stage of loading and unloading
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as company policies
Maneuver trucks into loading and unloading positions safely
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents, or violations promptly
