Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a concentration in Cybersecurity, Defence or Strategic Studies, International Relations, Political Science, or a closely related field strongly preferred
  • Ability to interpret and succinctly describe ongoing, complex events with incomplete data in a fast-paced environment in English; ability to read and understand additional languages a plus
  • Adaptable, innovative and able to juggle multiple competing priorities in evolving scenarios with incomplete information
  • Passion for breaking news, current world events, technology, and a great understanding of both social media and publicly-available data
  • Enthusiastic approach to innovation and strategic thinking
  • Ideally, previous experience of working in a real-time information environment
  • Ability to work full-time on a 12 month fixed-term contract, including weekends (Saturday & Sunday) during core hours (8:00am - 4:00pm AEST or 10:00am - 6:00pm AEDT), as well as projects and meetings outside of business hours

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on cybersecurity events and emerging cyber risks, and relevant data sources to improve our AI models
  • Monitor and analyze the quality of our data feeds
  • Own and develop projects to improve our AI models’ performance in the real time event detection space
  • Make real-time decisions with incomplete data
  • Collaborate on and communicate about daily priorities in a team-centric environment
  • Examine and analyze data feeds and annotate, label and edit signals in real time
  • Play a key role in defining new factors to improve alerts, data source coverage, machine learning and AI models as part of the algorithm training process and human-AI feedback loop
