Requirements

  • Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy
  • Licensed as a PHARMACIST in Florida, Texas, Ohio, or Arizona
  • Ability to reside and work within the state of Florida, Texas, Ohio, or Arizona
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs
  • Self-directed, but also able to work well in a group

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely dispense prescribed medication to patients
  • Ensure adherence to quality assurance standards, accurate tracking techniques, and a review process prior to shipping medications to patients
  • Influence department's strategy
  • Make decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components
  • Complete a review that includes a full analysis of the medication care plan, investigation of overall utilization, and identification of unusual usage patterns
  • Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
  • Take inbound phone calls from various healthcare team members
  • Make outbound phone calls to various healthcare providers if required for business need
  • Complete queue-based work, including reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, checking for drug-drug interactions, assessing drug-allergy concerns, and evaluating appropriateness of dosage, directions, and therapy
  • Utilize electronic resources and guidelines to assist in decision making
  • Work tasks may vary based on department need
  • Participate in Federal prescription programs
