Requirements

  • Leadership experience in data science, data products, or related fields within R&D or pharmaceutical environments
  • Expertise in data strategy, design, and delivery of user-centric, reusable data products for analytics, AI/ML
  • Knowledge of high-value data assets (e.g., protocol, study design, operational, regulatory, disclosure, RWD/RWE)
  • Proficiency in FAIR data principles, agile delivery, scalability, interoperability, and reuse
  • Experience integrating internal/external data sources (e.g., CRO datasets, performance benchmarks, regulatory data)
  • Skills in ontology development, semantic modeling, and governance for operational/regulatory domains
  • Familiarity with standards like CDISC, HL7 FHIR, enterprise metadata, knowledge graphs, and catalogs
  • Strong collaboration skills with stakeholders in Clinical Development, Operations, Regulatory, Medical Writing, QA, Safety, Knowledge Management, Data Product Architecture & Governance, Master Data Management
  • Ability to work up to 25% travel; primary location Titusville, NJ (open to Spring House, PA or Cambridge, MA)

Responsibilities

  • Lead team to define and deliver data products for critical Global Development use cases (e.g., study startup, TMF metadata, operational KPIs, submission readiness)
  • Define and maintain roadmap for Global Development data products from protocol development to clinical trial disclosure
  • Develop data products using agile delivery and FAIR principles for scalability, interoperability, and reuse across Janssen and partners
  • Integrate internal and external Global Development data sources (e.g., CRO-provided datasets, benchmarks, regulatory datasets)
  • Contribute to development and governance of Global Development Ontology for semantic consistency
  • Align Global Development Ontology with enterprise metadata standards and external frameworks (e.g., CDISC, HL7 FHIR)
  • Partner with Knowledge Management, Data Product Architecture & Governance, Master Data Management for seamless enterprise integration
  • Collaborate with Global Development stakeholders (Clinical, Regulatory, Medical Writing, QA, Safety) to co-create solutions maximizing data value
  • Ensure data products are AI-ready, semantically consistent, interoperable, enabling trial efficiency, regulatory readiness, compliance
