Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and a positive attitude

Ability to attend in-person meetings and events 3-4 days regularly
Willingness to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company
Ability to relocate to future Scout Motors headquarters if based there (role may start remote but transition to in-office)

Responsibilities

Lead the formation and development of Scout Motors’ product liability team and implement internal programs supporting high-quality, safe vehicles, including training, policies, and procedures
Build relationships and working groups across internal teams (Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Engineering) to conduct risk assessments and proactively evaluate products against applicable standards and industry best practices
Review marketing and warnings labels to ensure product warnings, instructions, and marketing materials are clear, accurate, and compliant with regulations
Lead investigations of customer complaints and track industry field actions to analyze product performance and identify design/manufacturing defects early
Coordinate with internal teams to design and execute effective recall and field action plans as needed
Advise and support Scout Motors’ litigation team and outside counsel to develop defenses on cases involving product performance
