Responsibilities

  • Build genuine, supportive relationships with BU students prioritizing wellness and deepening Jewish life involvement
  • Lead and empower student leaders and interns to plan and facilitate peer wellbeing experiences based on needs (e.g., yoga classes, meditation, exercise groups, stress-reduction workshops)
  • Collaborate with students and colleagues to design and expand wellness programs including physical activity, mindfulness, and peer support groups
  • Engage regularly with individual students or small groups to discuss wellness challenges, offer guidance, and co-create wellness plans
  • Facilitate 2–3 courses per year using Hillel’s "Ancient Wisdom for Modern Wellbeing" curriculum, integrating Jewish perspectives on health
  • Mentor student cohorts like the Care Fellowship to create innovative wellness projects and advocate for campus mental health services
  • Connect students in need with mental health resources and referrals, providing ongoing support
  • Maintain and analyze wellness-related student engagement data through CRM to inform programming and outreach
  • Participate in Shabbat services, Jewish holidays, and key programs featuring wellness initiatives
  • Provide staff team-building opportunities through wellness-related trainings and sessions
  • Train and consult with the broader student engagement team to build a well-being culture, including incorporating practices into interactions, guiding one-on-one conversations, and running skill-building exercises
