Senior (5 to 8 years), Expert & Leadership (9+ years)
Candidates must possess over 10 years of experience in operations, logistics, robotics, or related fields, with a proven track record of leading large, cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to manage and scale hybrid workforces, including full-time staff and distributed independent contractors, is essential. Experience in building and running on-site physical operations, executing complex programs with cross-functional collaboration, and managing technical operational workflows involving both hardware and software is required. Technical fluency and a data-driven mindset are necessary, with SQL or Python experience being a strong plus. Experience operating in international markets, particularly LATAM, including field deployments, compliance, and vendor management, is also required, alongside strong systems thinking, process design, problem-solving skills, high operational rigor, and a drive for continuous improvement.
The Director of Robotics Operations will own and scale the full operations lifecycle for robotics data collection, from onsite physical setups to distributed contractor management and post-processing annotation pipelines. This role involves leading a diverse team including Site Operations Leads, Strategic Project Leads, Engagement Managers, and Program Managers. Responsibilities include managing large networks of independent contributors globally to execute high-volume data collection at scale, and building and operationalizing high-throughput, high-quality workflows across robotics programs. The Director will collaborate closely with Robotics Field Engineers and partner cross-functionally with Go-To-Market, Engineering, and Solutions teams to ensure successful execution of complex, customer-facing projects. Key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, yield, cost per hour of data, and turnaround times will be defined and owned. The role also entails solving operational bottlenecks, scaling infrastructure to support rapid growth, and operating with urgency and clarity to drive execution while continuously improving workflows and systems.
