Requirements

  • Advanced degree required (PharmD, MD, relevant PhD, etc.)
  • At least two years’ experience in a health-related system, pharmaceutical company, or Managed Care Environment required
  • Proven track record with a minimum of 3 years in leading a national clinical team in the biopharma industry, required
  • Experience managing a Medical Affairs team required
  • Highly motivated with clinical or scientific knowledge in CNS, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease
  • Good analytical decision-making abilities
  • Exceptional business acumen
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire an ML team and management towards exceeding objectives
  • Relevant clinical and/or therapeutic experience preferred
  • Displays business acumen/knowledge based on experiences such as participation in formulary process decisions
  • Extensive experience in neurology, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, planning and organization, problem solving and decision-making skills, as well as technical skills
  • Strong business acumen and ability to clearly and concisely report detailed data to management, as well as the customer
  • Ability to effectively communicate directly with the customer to ensure that all customer goals and objectives are being met as planned

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Medical Liaisons (MLs) overseeing the West region
  • Build relationships and demonstrate the clinical outcome and benefits of Client products
  • Educate and demonstrate the benefits of key products to Healthcare Professionals (HCPs)
  • Provide medical information and coordinate educational workshops, round tables, medical forums, etc
  • Identify sites for clinical trials in all stages of development
  • Function as a scientific liaison between NNI and key external customers to further scientific exchange
  • Provide advanced product and scientific and medical field support to Medical, Sales and Marketing, as well as Managed Care and Government using academic/professional credentials and scientific expertise
  • Work with internal medical affairs team to determine and execute against the medical strategy, including strategic determination of change of territory prioritization based on customer need and analytics
  • Develop and maintain medical (territory and account) plans in coordination with the MLs
  • Complete administrative duties in an accurate manner and on a timely basis, in line with current SOPs and working practices
  • Comply with all guidelines, policies, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure effective administrative management of regional business as well as operational budgets
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all relevant Client processes and procedures, and proactively assist other FMA members to further their understanding
  • Provide monthly reports on scientific support activities in region to Director including budget expenditures as directed
  • Record all activities within a customer relationship management system (e.g. VEEVA) and all expenses within Concur in accordance with FMA procedures
  • Align performance with success
  • Handle performance management and personnel issues of ML team
  • Monitor and manage expectations in line with project goals as set by Client
