Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategy for government affairs and public policy issues for specific franchises, as well as local regulatory initiatives at the state, region, or division level
  • Secure and maintain franchise operating authority for the company
  • Organize and direct franchise renewal efforts in the assigned area, including developing and implementing strategies consistent with corporate guidelines, securing timely renewals on acceptable terms, managing local franchise administration and database information, and ensuring timely delivery of renewal notifications
  • Resolve complex and/or difficult franchise renewals, franchise transfers, and franchise non-compliance issues
  • Develop and maintain relationships with government representatives and regulators at the state and local level
  • Travel to attend meetings, hearings, or other events to represent the company
  • Manage outside counsel, consultants, or lobbyists to implement strategies or initiatives
  • Monitor legislation and coordinate state association management
  • Oversee corporate initiatives and community affairs activities
  • Provide leadership and direction for multiple functional areas
  • Manage professionals at manager, supervisor, and professional levels
  • Ensure appropriate resources to achieve financial and business objectives
  • Influence, shape, and integrate strategy for functional area(s)
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
