Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity and network security, with a cyber-first, network-second leadership approach
  • Advanced cybersecurity knowledge and experience managing large-scale networks for perimeter security, network isolation (Firewalls/ACLs), NOC security, appliance hardening, routing security, PEN testing, and vulnerability management of carrier-grade routers and mobility network functions
  • Experience managing outcomes from red teaming, penetration tests, security design, incident management, cyber investigations, vulnerability remediation, red team exercises, network segmentation, and AAA
  • Cybersecurity experience, education, and/or certifications
  • Familiarity with large-scale packet networks and advanced router functions
  • Knowledge of network security principles including control plane, data plane, and element security
  • Familiarity with IP standards and protocols
  • Experience with oversight of technical discussions/negotiations with vendors
  • Experience working with development teams, providing guidance for lab proof of concept work, and testing teams
  • High-level knowledge of Linux
  • Knowledge of network elements such as Juniper routers, Cisco routers, Palo Alto Firewall, SRX Firewall, Network Security, Access control lists, BGP route controls, and router protection techniques
  • Master's degree (MS/MA) desired in Computer Science

Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance secure network security architecture designs around features like Lawful intercept, Packet visibility, and TACACS (AAA)
  • Perform security assessments based on NIST Cyber pillars
  • Work on architecture standards with labs and standards bodies
  • Provide expertise in appliance hardening, network element hardening, and supply chain security
  • Develop proficiency in cybersecurity policy and standards
  • Measure risks and introduce robust controls for telecom wireline/wireless networks
  • Perform research on network vulnerabilities using PEN testing and adversarial exercises to proactively determine security flaws (PSIRTs) on equipment from vendors like Nokia, Ericsson, Cisco, and Juniper
  • Work with Incident Response organization to triage threat actor activities on network devices by evaluating logs, syslogs, forensics, TACACS logs, and packet meta-data analysis
  • Drive a comprehensive program to harden AT&T’s OAM and NOC networks from a security perspective, implementing and measuring the efficacy of various security controls
  • Implement security controls, policies, and standards for AT&T’s network covering routing security, network segmentation, crypto standards, etc., to reduce cyber risks and enhance security controls for telecom and enterprise networks
  • Work closely with Network Labs design and operations teams
