Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical certification and 3 years' experience in one of the following trades: automation, robotics, mechatronics, microelectronics, or related trade (or 5 years' experience in one of those trades)
  • Completion of a 2-year Vocational or Technical trade program
  • License in related trade in city and/or state where job is located
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • 1-3 years of experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Mechatronics and automation experience
  • Experience with circuit boards
  • Strong customer service and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor repairs on equipment or systems (e.g., alpha bots and structures) utilizing craft skills such as electronics, networking, electrical, mechatronics, and robotics
  • Inspect, operate, or test equipment or systems to diagnose problems
  • Dismantle equipment, machines, or systems to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Diagnose problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment
  • Provide prompt response to emergency calls
  • Document repair activities
  • Follow established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines to perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality of equipment or systems
  • Inspect, clean, and repair equipment or systems
  • Observe and document signs of wear and tear
  • Recommend repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs
  • Determine replacement needs and document preventive maintenance activities
  • Manage work orders and maintenance schedules by completing and submitting required written and electronic information (e.g., expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs)
  • Order and track parts and replacement equipment and record purchases and usage
  • Submit warranty claims and adhere to OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
  • Ensure quality work complies with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements
