Requirements

  • 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic
  • Furnish own personal hand tools
  • Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including 2pm to 10:30pm shift with OT
  • Willingness to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, drive, sit, lift/carry up to 100+ lbs, push/pull, climb/balance, stoop/squat, kneel, bend, reach, twist, grasp, manipulate objects, and perform manual dexterity continuously/frequently

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards
  • Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.)
  • Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs
  • Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines
  • Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
