Requirements

High school Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license with good driving record – Class B CDL preferred
Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position
General diesel engine component location and identification
Basic mechanical aptitude
Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
General DC electric and circuit testing skills
Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures
Preferred: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components
Provide service at various Xylem and Customer sites in the Summerville, SC area
Offer phone support when applicable
Complete equipment-specific training
Work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
Adhere to safety practices and procedures
