Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record – Class B CDL preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
  • Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • General diesel engine component location and identification
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures
  • Preferred: Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components
  • Provide service at various Xylem and Customer sites in the Summerville, SC area
  • Offer phone support when applicable
  • Complete equipment-specific training
  • Work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
  • Adhere to safety practices and procedures
