Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Technically proficient in dialysis department operations and knowledge of industry practices and business principles
  • Experienced leadership in a multi-faceted environment, with ability to manage tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives
  • Knowledge of ESRD regulatory requirements, Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI) practices, and FMS QAI tools
  • Accountability for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Ability to analyze diverse situations or data, evaluate factors, and understand current business trends
  • Skills in hiring, coaching, counseling employees, conducting performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations
  • Experience overseeing Home Therapies Program (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Manage tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, and staffing, with direct responsibility for results
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports to maintain an engaged and productive workforce; partner with Human Resources on employee matters
  • Support and drive FMS quality standards by meeting ESRD regulatory requirements and practicing Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI), including use of FMS QAI tools
  • Address and act on adverse events and action thresholds
  • Oversee facility’s Home Therapies Program if applicable
  • Ensure compliance with all FMS Clinical Quality policies and procedures, communicating and implementing them to facility staff
  • Maintain integrity of medical records and other FMS administrative and operational records; comply with data collections and auditing activities
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity, including safety
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge with appropriate staff members
  • Ensure patient education on quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, access care (including catheter reduction), and adherence to treatment regime
  • Act as a resource for patients to address concerns
  • Participate and present at meetings with internal and external representatives, often leading cooperative project team efforts
  • Interact with subordinate supervisors, customers, functional peer groups, internal departments, and external customers for problem resolution
  • Provide technical guidance and act as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
