Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Technically proficient in dialysis department operations and knowledge of industry practices and business principles
  • Experienced leadership in a multi-faceted environment, with ability to manage tactical execution of objectives
  • Understanding of ESRD regulatory requirements, FMS quality standards, and Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI) practices
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Ability to analyze diverse situations, evaluate data, and understand current business trends
  • Skills in hiring, coaching, counseling, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations
  • Experience with data collection, auditing, and maintaining medical/administrative records
  • Ability to interact with subordinate supervisors, customers, functional peers, internal departments, and external representatives

Responsibilities

  • Manages tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, and staffing
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports; partners with HR on employee matters
  • Supports and drives FMS quality standards, meets ESRD regulatory requirements, and practices QAI using FMS tools
  • Addresses and acts on adverse events and action thresholds
  • Oversees facility’s Home Therapies Program if applicable
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations; communicates and implements FMS Clinical Quality policies and procedures
  • Maintains integrity of medical records and other administrative/operational records; complies with data collections and auditing
  • Maintains facility environmental integrity, including safety
  • Follows processes and policies, interprets/recommends changes, and establishes procedures affecting the organization
  • Hires, coaches, counsels employees, conducts performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and terminations; provides technical guidance
  • Coordinates all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge
  • Ensures patient education on quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, access care, catheter reduction, and treatment adherence
  • Acts as a resource for patient concerns and questions
  • Accountable for timely completion of patient care assessments and care plans; organizes Interdisciplinary Team meetings
  • Directs initiation, maintenance, and communication of efficient patient schedules to maximize facility station efficiency
  • Monitors specific patient situations, including hospitalizations, no-shows, catheter use, and significant events
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Participates and presents at meetings; leads cooperative project team efforts; interacts for problem resolution
