Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experienced leadership in a multi-faceted clinical environment, particularly dialysis or ESRD care
  • Technical proficiency in dialysis department operations and knowledge of industry practices, business principles, and current business trends
  • Ability to manage tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives, including costs, methods, and staffing
  • Compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and FMCNA/FMS policies, including Quality Assessment and Improvement (QAI) tools
  • Experience with data collection, auditing, medical records integrity, and facility environmental safety
  • Skills in hiring, coaching, counseling, performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations
  • Ability to provide technical guidance, problem resolution, and leadership in meetings with internal/external stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage tactical execution of short- and long-term objectives through coordination of activities, with direct responsibility for results, costs, methods, and staffing
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for direct reports to maintain an engaged workforce; partner with Human Resources on employee matters
  • Support and drive FMS quality standards by meeting ESRD regulatory requirements and practicing QAI, including addressing adverse events and action thresholds
  • Oversee facility’s Home Therapies Program if applicable
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and FMS Clinical Quality policies; communicate and implement them to staff
  • Maintain integrity of medical records, administrative/operational records, and comply with data collections and auditing activities
  • Maintain facility environmental integrity, including safety
  • Hire, coach, counsel, and manage employees, including performance reviews, disciplinary action, and terminations
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge with appropriate staff
  • Ensure patient education on quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, access care, catheter reduction, and adherence
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
