VoIP DevOps Engineer

Position Overview

Zoom is seeking a talented VoIP DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team in delivering seamless and innovative communication solutions. This role is crucial for enabling around-the-clock continuity in critical Zoom Phone backend infrastructure.

About the Team

Our team is comprised of eight specialized departments, each dedicated to delivering seamless and innovative communication solutions. These departments range from software development and machine learning to quality assurance, all working to create and maintain Zoom's user-friendly interfaces and robust infrastructure. We continuously push the boundaries of communication technology, connecting people regardless of their physical distance.

Responsibilities

As a VoIP DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Administering and maintaining VoIP tools and infrastructure.
• Implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines for service deployment.
• Troubleshooting production issues, including performance and functionality concerns.
• Collaborating with vendors and engineering teams to ensure service availability and security.
• Participating in on-call rotation to provide system support.
• Monitoring and optimizing system performance using various DevOps tools.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on experience in production systems.
• Strong understanding of SIP, RTP, and RTCP protocols.
• Proficiency in Linux systems and shell scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, and container technologies.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack).
• Programming skills in Python, Go, or equivalent languages.
• Experience with Redis or MySQL databases.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools (Git, Jenkins, ArgoCD).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Knowledge of network troubleshooting and diagnostics.
• Understanding of microservices architecture.
• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code.
